The cost of counselling varies depending on the time required to create a positive counselling experience.

All counselling is $150/hour (plus tax) Individual sessions are usually 1 hour. First session couple’s counselling is 1.5 hours and is $225 (plus tax).  (These rates apply to any individual/couple with a combined income of 50,000+ a year) There is no expectation that a session should go to the maximum but the counsellor prefers to end the session when she feels the work has been done.

Financial difficulties, low-income family or single parent family?- Reduced rates are available on a sliding scale to help you if you cannot afford counselling. Please EMAIL or TEXT Geri prior to booking an appointment to see what the cost would be based on your annual income. Do not be shy or embarrassed to enquire. We are here to serve you.

Benefits through work? Insurance plans? If you have counselling as a service through your work – an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) – it is important to check with your provider to see if Geri is listed as a provider FIRST before booking an appointment.

Some of the most common companies that provide services and will work with Geri are: Telus, or Lifeworks, Homewood Health, Humanacare, Arete, Greenshields and ComPsych. (Sometimes Great West Life, Sun Life and Blue Cross – but this is subject to the package your company has purchased.)

If Geri is not listed as a provider, you may inquire if they will receive a receipt for payment from you (which she will give you) and if they will reimburse you. In this case, you must pay in advance and submit the receipts. Some insurance companies will welcome counsellors holding her licencing credentials, and others require that she be registered as a Psychologist with the Canadian Psychological Society or as a social worker –  which she is not.

Methods of payment: Cash, Cheque (if local bank), etransfer, Mastercard, Visa, American Express and debit visa.
